Where does Gods vision end and our skills take over?

Now I know that's probably poor grammar but there is a point where pure Godly vision can achieve nothing more without some form of application from us.  We co-labour with God so how do we determine what labour is required from us to see Gods vision for us achieved?

On my mind at the moment as I plan for the first operational/planning meeting with Jonathan and his team at the IFF.

We have a vision for a great movie showing the Fathers heart.  We have a proposed shoot date.  What can we plan to achieve between now and then to see this film produced AND what does God have planned?  How do we work within the "tension" of both Gods vision and our desire to use our skills?

Challenging topic and I don't know the answer!  But this is part of taking God's Kingdom into the market place.  This is part of my journey.

Time to honour immigrants coming to New Zealand

Sitting here this morning having a coffee and reading newspaper at a local cafe.  The guy serving is from another country, so is the person making the coffee.  English is not perfect but their service is very friendly and the smiles on their faces is very welcoming.  I have sat here before and admired their work ethic, their smiles and willingness to go the extra mile to see their clients happy.  Business is a little slow at the moment but they never cease to try and please everyone that comes through the door.

I just wanted to say "thank you" for coming to my county and adding to it!  I appreciate you and welcome you as a "genuine kiwi!" I don't feel threatened by you or angry you taking my job. No I appreciate you have come and chosen my country to start a new life.

God is the God of "all nations" and I'm happy you are part of this nation, New Zealand, that I love.

Received an email today in response to my group posting on Linkedin.  Les has a background in creative media and has put together some helpful material on promoting film projects to potential funding companies.
Will look further into this.

Jonathan may be going to Singapore to follow up funding opportunities!

We've been having some interesting talks with a new contact who is looking at promoting the IFF through his friends, churches and business connections in Singapore. Jonathan has the opportunity to go to Singapore in April and we are trying to arrange for him to meet up with these new contacts.

How do we change our workplace without being seduced by it?

Went to a business breakfast today where the speaker had withdrawn form his profession because the environment was drawing him away from God and changing him.  He felt he was better suited now to go back and change his work environment because he had spent time studying God and his theology was stronger.
Very sad to hear someone having to withdraw from something they love because it is corrupting them.

I remember being in the financial services industry at the major national conference and a friend of mine came to me, one that knew that I was saved, and asked "didn't I miss all of this stuff!" What he meant was didn't I miss all the drinking, questionable behavior and office liaisons that were common in the industry.  I replied "No, God has replaced it with something better."

I mean it.  We cannot be tempted by the world when we understand what we have received from God. I felt no desire to join in and even found I could work with these people but did not have to partake in their lifestyle anymore.  We don't have to be like the world to succeed in the world!

We should not hide from the world or be separate (isolated).

Instead we should be immersed in our daddies kingdom and carry the influence and power of the kingdom of heaven with us.  Then we can transform the world around us rather that it transforming us.

Became a film maker for my children today

Just been appointed as executive producer for a feature film project a friend of mine is developing. Not because I have any skill specifically but I'm really excited about seeing this through and doing something meaningful that will bless our children.

Thinking about how we activate people in the church

Just started writing the second book outline for my Dreaming with Purpose series on taking Gods Kingdom to the Marketplace.
Being challenged today on how to get more people in the church active in their communities, in their workplaces.  Under the church model we had very few servers who we generally burnt out.
Under the Kingdom model we still have the majority of people sitting in pews watching Gods glory pass them by rather than joining in what God is doing.
Yes many sons and daughters are coming alive in terms of their correct relationships with God but but very few have progressed to the next level of actually taking Gods authority with them and claiming their inheritance.
Activity does not produce intimacy with God but intimacy with God will produce activity.
Now that people are finding intimacy with God again when does this result in action?
Guess I'd better start writing........the revelation is coming.

Meeting tomorrow with Jonathan Warner and Steven Song re funding for this amazing project from Singapore.  Don't know what will emerge but exploring every door that God is opening!

Vanuatu. Change a person, a village, a nation......

Scoping the Vanuatu project with Nick Clements today. Projects and ideas to improve each family, the overall village, business/income generation, tourism/team building trips and potentially national/export projects.  Many opportunities.  Now establishing rapport with business partners in Vanuatu including YWAM.  Preparing project update materials for promotion and launch at the August conference.  Very excited about the opportunity to work into this nation.  Thanks Nick!

Sometimes changing the world begins with helping one person

Speaking to so many people at the moment who have dreams to change and improve their community but they can only see the end vision and not the first step.  Often we need to start with one person or a small part of the project to get runs on the board. And anyway, if all we ever do is help one person then haven't we already changed the world for the better!

I'm excited about the opportunities that God will put before me today

But am I excited enough to respond correctly to them? Having great dreams and ideas is a waste if we don't put effort and focus on making them happen.  Do your ideas excite you or do they activate you?

God is bringing together like minded people

Great lunch meeting with Johan and Steven today.  Steven walked in off the street with a passion for mens and business ministry.  We shared our passions and encouragement and agreed to keep supporting one another.  Don't go to my church but they part of Gods body - it's time we started working together more closely as a Body of Christ!

We can make a difference to society!

Awesome lunch with Alfred Ngaro today.  The power of testimony of a changed life.  Alfred is involved in so many ideas and projects - linking people and assisting them to achieve their dreams.  From senior executives to rugby clubs!  Alfred will be an amazing addition to the "Dreaming with Purpose" conference in August.  May even give him two sessions!

Partners being added to job creation project

Great scoping meeting last night.  Shared vision and opportunities with interested people from several churches in our area.  Several people offered to assist on the job creation project and the Vanuatu project scope was widened.  Much enthusiasm for the Dreaming with Purpose conference in August.  I can see I will need to narrow down the targets as there are just too many ideas and possibilities.  Lets get some runs on the board and build our credibility.  Everyone left with the vision and the challenge to dream more - thats how this thing will grow!
